Supporting women through their birth and beyond in SE Wisconsin

Hi, Mama!

My name is Rachel Veit and I am a certified doula in the greater Milwaukee Area. I am so glad you are here and are considering adding a doula to your support team!

Springs of Grace was born after experiencing my own powerful birth in 2024 and being blessed with a birth team who supported me spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. As I look back on that time, I can see how God’s grace was woven throughout the whole process-providing strength in times when I was weak and tired. I now hope to be a blessing to mamas as they prepare to bring their babies into the world.

Birth is unpredictable and preparing for it can feel overwhelming. Building a strong support team around you can make so much of a difference on your journey and help you feel empowered and prepared to walk into the unknowns. Every woman deserves a birth where they feel confident to make decisions for themselves by learning how to care for and prepare your body and mind for this incredible event. As you would train and prepare for any major event in your life, I hope you will do the same for your birth.

What is a doula?

The word “doula” came from a Greek word that means “servant.” A doula is a person who supports you emotionally and physically during childbirth and also helps prepare you to make decisions about your birth through evidence-based research. Not only do birth doulas stay with you through your birth but also are there to support you throughout pregnancy as well as the beginning of the postpartum period.

Benefits of having a doula include:

39% Fewer Cesareans

10% decrease in use of pain medication

31% decrease in use of Pitocin

15% increase in spontaneous vaginal birth

34% decrease in negative birth experience

34% higher rate of breastfeeding
